How to run AFT?

Getting started

The Actionable Futures Toolkit process or methods can be run in various ways. All parts can be executed over a long intensive day, or over several days session, one task each, but here are some general guidelines for your workshops.

1/ Participants

The AFT works the best with a large-ish diverse group around 6-10 people. For larger groups we usually run the premeditated visionary installment.

2/ Way of working

The AFT is intended to be run as round robin — meaning at the end of canvas, each group presents their findings briefly, and continues to work on the next canvas / topic.

3/ Equipment

Printed AFT canvases or empty flip charts, post-it notes, sharpies and tape. The usual stuff. A sufficient wall space for putting up the canvases or flipboards.
